We’re hiring a permanent, full-time HR Information Systems (HRIS) Specialist based in Edmonton, AB.

 

Reporting to and working closely with the HR Systems & Analytics Associate Director, you will play a key role in supporting and optimizing EPCOR’s HR systems while contributing to the implementation and migration of a cloud-based ERP platform.

As the HRIS Specialist, you will be a key contributor to the successful delivery of a high-impact, enterprise-wide ERP initiative, partnering with stakeholders across HR, Payroll, IT, and external vendors throughout the planning, design, and implementation phases. Your contributions will help shape the future of how we deliver HR services and support employees across the organization.

 

You will also serve as a subject matter expert on HRIS platforms, ensuring system integrity, troubleshooting issues, and identifying opportunities to enhance processes and improve the employee experience. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, technical expertise, and the ability to translate business needs into effective system solutions.

 

 

What you’d be responsible for

 

  • Contributing to the development and alignment of the HR Systems & Analytics strategy, ensuring proper awareness across HR Shared Services and the broader organization.
  • Supporting budget and resource planning by identifying workforce, technology, and funding needs to sustain departmental capabilities.
  • Participating in or leading various ERP implementation activities, including process mapping, system design and configuration, data migration, troubleshooting, and assessing Go/No-Go readiness.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to analyze business needs, workflows, and system gaps, and recommending improvements to existing HR technology solutions.
  • Leading and supporting HRIS enhancement projects, including managing end-to-end project delivery, milestones, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and issue escalation, while ensuring delivery within scope and performance objectives.
  • Supporting HR data integrity and accuracy by coordinating system updates, validating data, and implementing effective data management processes.
  • Coordinating and overseeing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities related to system enhancements and updates, and collaborating with IT and end users to complete testing, resolve issues, and ensure system readiness.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation, user guides, and procedures to support effective and consistent system use
  • Designing and delivering training and change management initiatives to enhance system adoption, user experience, and overall effectiveness.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards by developing and monitoring HR systems processes and controls.

 

 

What’s required to be successful

 

  • A Degree in Business, Information Systems, Technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working with HRIS in a large corporate environment.
  • Experience with enterprise HR platforms such as Oracle Cloud, SAP SuccessFactors, or Workday.
  • Experience supporting or leading cloud-based ERP system implementations or major enhancements.
  • Experience with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., BI tools, SQL, advanced Excel).
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders.

 

Assets

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Fusion.
  • Experience with AI-enabled tools within HR or ERP systems.
  • Oracle HCM Cloud Certification or related certifications.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
